Robert Forbes studied singing in Australia at the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music and then at the Opera School of the Birmingham Conservatoire where he won the St Clair Barfield award for excellence in performance. He worked with opera companies in France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Israel. Robert taught singing at the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire, was Head of Singing at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, and the Guildford School of Acting.
